Pugad Baboy 25

Pugad Baboy 25 is here! :)

Bidang-bida si Brosia sa "The Bourne Ambrosity"
Together with the Walang Payat Gang (PB7), Bardagul Kapote (PB13), Dobermaxx (PB5), Sgt. Sabaybunot (PB4), Gary (PB 11), Dr. Dado Galang (PB15), Babman (PB6), Benigno Ramos (PB Sunday Comics), Agent Paulino Tang and Obesa Vanidosa (PB 24)

May bagong character na ulit! Her name is Coleen. She was briefly mentioned back in PB11 by Bab. Remember this comic strip?

She's one of the "It's either you hate her or you love her" type of character. Gusto ko sya. Kaya lang nakakakita sya ng engkanto. Nakakakilabot lang. Hahaha!

Anyway, overall, decent Pugad Baboy installment. Happy 25th, Pugad Baboy! :)

Pugad Baboy 24

Huli na pala ako sa balita. Hehe.

Move over Dobermaxx, Babman, Bardagul Kapote, Bounty Hunter, at Bodyguard.
May bagong bida na naman ang Pugad! Si....

Obesa Vanidosa!
(ala Hermione Granger: "It's Oh-be-suh VaniDOW-suh!")

Bagong story arc! Yehey! :)

F.B.I. (Fat B*tch Ingenue) agents in action

Asa. XD

Pugad Baboy 23

May Pugad Baboy 23 na!

The Publisher

Wala ring major story arc. Sana meron kung may Sunday Comics 3. :)

Bente-tres

107 pages sya, hamak na mas mahaba sa 21 at 22. Yun lang. Get your copies now!

Pugad Baboy 22

Haha! XD

Pugad Baboy Sunday Comics 2

It's always the best part of the day when I go to a bookstore and find out a new Pugad Baboy was released. This time, it's the second Sunday Comics.

Just like the first one, every page of this book has a short, colored, and enlarged comic strip with the antics of the Pugad Baboy residents. Each comic strip goes on its own and are not categorized under a title, unlike those on the normal Pugad Baboy comics.

This one doesn't have a story arc unlike the first one, but it does feature what seem to be two of Pol Medina Jr.'s projects outside Pugad Baboy, titled "Bukayo" and "Torque Chops."

Lastly, being quite a big book with colored pages, you shouldn't be surprised that its price is higher than the regular comic books. I got my copy for P400 in the National Bookstore near DLSU.

Pugad Baboy 21

When I went to Glorietta today (technically yesterday, it was just 7 hours ago) to meet with my friends, I came earlier than expected so I wandered a bit inside the National Bookstore. When I passed a counter, I saw a guy buying 2 books: a Polgas Comics 2 and a red book with Dobermaxx on it. I immediately looked around for the comicbook shelf and saw this:

It's the 21st Pugad Baboy! It was just a week ago when I blogged about completing the series and now the latest one is here! Happiness! Wahaha! I just had to buy it.

I haven't actually read it yet, I just opened it right now and scanned it. By looking at the cover, it seems like it's going to have a major story arc, the last one being "Benigno Ramos: Bounty Hunter" on the Sunday Comics, but looking at the table of contents, I don't think there is one. The last major story arc on the main series would be "Aso" way back on Kinse. I hope Pol Medina Jr. would make more of those but really, every new addition to the series is good enough.

Edit: I stand corrected. There is a major story arc! Bodyguard, which features a returning character from a previous story arc.

MANACOM Report 3, Pugad Dencio's

Here's another post regarding my "thoughts and discoveries about communication strategies being used by practitioners," which is the point of making this blog in the first place.

This time, it's about the communication strategy made by Dencio's. If you haven't noticed yet, [Yeah, I know, It's been going on for quite a while] they are being endorsed by Pugad Baboy's creator, Pol Medina Jr., and my favorite band, Sugarfree. They even made a song called "Pugad" and its brilliant music video featuring the some of the Pugad Baboy residents. They have a bonus disc for this that comes with the "Sugarfree LIVE!" album. For me, it can't get any better than that.

I haven't got the chance to actually eat at Dencio's since the endorsing began, but I did saw the changes that they made to the place. From the outside, you can already see the windows covered with pictures of the band with the Pugad Baboy characters eating. That's all there is [from what I've seen] and they're everywhere. My friend, Maruel, mentioned that even their menus have the same thing. [Visit his blog!]

I wonder how much they spent on this project. Convincing both PMJr and the Sugarfree to endorse them looks expensive, with the music video and all, the billboards, their website, other promotional stuff, and the changes that they've done on all their branches in the country. I think that it will be worth it. A lot of people are fans of their endorsers and I may be one of the biggest fans of both of them. Next time I'll be celebrating something, it will definitely be at Dencio's.
